It's been a busy year and we have continued to evolve, expand, and collaborate across our companies. From new office locations to growing teams and exciting educational initiatives, we’ve had a busy and rewarding autumn season. Here’s a look at what’s been happening across JMS Engineers, GC Robertson, MJ Consulting Engineers, and our wider group.
A New Home for JMS Engineers and GC Robertson
Both JMS Engineers and GC Robertson have moved into our new Brightwell Head Office - an inspiring space designed to enhance collaboration and support continued growth. Growth in Norwich
Our Norwich office has continued to thrive, recently moving to its new home on Crown Road. With a growing portfolio and a strong local presence, we’re now looking for a new Structural Engineer to join the expanding team. Discover more about the move →
London Office Relocation
Our London team has settled into a new base at 4 Bedlam Mews - creating a hub for new opportunities and further growth in the capital. This office was our first base in the capital 15 years ago and its nice to be home. With a larger office spread over two floors, it also houses our new Company initiative Abacus Contractors Design Services.
GC Robertson: Celebrating Milestones
GC Robertson has been busy working on a range of major projects across East Anglia. A recent highlight was the completion of the new Main Stand at Needham Market FC’s Bloomfields ground - a project that demonstrates the team’s practical, hands-on approach to structural engineering.
We also celebrated John Davis’ 70th birthday in the office (happy birthday John!). We are proud that John remains a key part of GC Robertson, bringing decades of engineering experience to day-to-day operations, visiting sites, and supporting clients across the region. His expertise continues to guide projects and inspire the team.
Abacus Contractors Design Services Expands Structural & Temporary Works Support
Abacus Contractors Design Services - our specialist structural design service for contractors - continues to grow, providing Façade structural engineering and Temporary Works design support to contractors and developers across London and beyond. Expanding the MJC Team
MJ Consulting Engineers has welcomed two new team members within the Manchester office - Wes and Francisco - who are supporting residential and commercial projects across Manchester and the surrounding areas. MJC is also expanding is base within London with the assistance of JMS to ensure that we can better serve both the Events and aviation industry. Meet the team →
Investing in the Next Generation
We’re proud to announce that three of our apprentices - Alex, James, and Joseph H - have begun their Civil Engineering degrees at Anglia Ruskin University. Supported by JMS and GC Robertson, they’re combining university study with hands-on project experience, developing the future of structural and civil engineering. Learn more about their journey →
JMS Engineers and GC Robertson Launch the Reuse Engineering Forum East Anglia
JMS Engineers and GC Robertson have launched the Reuse Engineering Forum East Anglia - a new sustainability initiative promoting material reuse and low-carbon design across the region. Led by engineers from both companies, REFEA brings together industry professionals to collaborate, share knowledge, and drive greener engineering practices. Learn more about this initiative →
Connecting Across East Anglia
This autumn, team members from across the group have been out and about networking across East Anglia - strengthening relationships and sharing insights within the region’s construction and property community.
We’ve attended a range of industry events, including Prettys’ Developers’ Club, Construction Connections Ipswich, and the East of England Sustainable Building Network - each providing valuable opportunities to collaborate, exchange ideas, and stay at the forefront of regional development.
Project Highlights
Alongside our office moves and growing teams, our engineers have been hard at work delivering innovative structural and civil engineering solutions across the UK. From complex residential developments to sustainable infrastructure and façade design, each project showcases the talent and collaboration at the heart of the JMS Group.
MJ Consulting Engineers recently delivered structural engineering support for several retail fit-outs within the newly opened Terminal 2 Departures East area at Manchester Airport.
Looking Ahead
As we move into winter, our focus remains on collaboration, innovation, and supporting growth across all of our companies. From developing new talent to strengthening our regional presence, we’re proud of the progress made this year - and excited for what’s to come in 2026.
We’re preparing to launch a new Site Appraisal service, designed to help clients understand their site potential before building begins - ensuring projects start on the strongest footing. Alongside ambitious upcoming projects such as Peregrine Business Park in High Wycombe, we’re also looking to recruit new team members across our Ipswich, Norwich and London offices, as we continue to expand our capabilities and regional reach.
